The Data page in Metroview is where you can view, track, and download data exports you’ve requested. It shows the status of each export from the time it’s submitted through when it’s ready to download.
Under the Downloads section, you’ll see a table with details about each export request, including:
FILENAME – The file name you set when submitting the export
USER – The Metroview user who requested the download
DESCRIPTION – Information about the selected area, extent, time frame, activity type, and trip purpose
TYPE – Currently all downloads are ZIP files that include spatial data and a CSV
SIZE – The size of the export file. Larger exports, such as full Area of Interest downloads, take longer to process
CREATED – The date the export was submitted (YYYY-MM-DD). This column can be sorted to help find recent requests
Download status and processing
After you submit a download request, the final column will display its current status.
When a request is first submitted, it will show Queued…, meaning the export has been received but has not yet started processing. While an export is queued, you may be able to cancel it using the X icon to the right.
Once processing begins, the status will change to Processing…. Processing time varies depending on the size of the selected area, the chosen time frame, and how many other exports are in the queue.
When the export is complete, the status will update to show an orange Download button. The Type and Size fields will also populate once the file is ready.
Maximum Number of Exports
Each organization in Metroview has a limit on the number of large exports that can be pending at one time. A large export is defined as an area larger than 9 square miles (23 square kilometers).
If your organization has reached its maximum number of concurrent large exports, the Download entire area button in the Edge Counts view will be disabled. The button becomes available again once a previously requested large export has finished processing and is ready for download.
The same limits apply when using Select download area. If your selection qualifies as a large export and the maximum number has already been reached, you’ll see a message indicating that the export cannot be submitted yet. In that case, you can either select a smaller area or wait until an existing export completes.
